Position Summary
The Operations & Fabrication Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, logistics, production shop, fabrication department, and event installation teams. This individual will ensure that every rental item leaves our warehouse in exceptional condition, every event is executed efficiently, and every operational process continuously improves. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines warehouse management, logistics, fabrication oversight, quality control, fleet management, inventory management, team leadership, and operational planning. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who enjoys building systems, developing people, solving problems, and creating high-quality products while maintaining an organized and efficient operation. As a member of the leadership team, this position plays a key role in strategic planning, operational improvements, asset management, and company growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Oversee all daily warehouse operations.
Ensure inventory is organized, maintained, accurately tracked, and event-ready.
Maintain clean, safe, and efficient warehouse standards.
Develop and improve warehouse systems and workflows.
Manage inventory counts, storage procedures, and warehouse organization.
Ensure all rental equipment is cleaned, repaired, and prepared before every event.
Logistics & Event Operations
Oversee loading, transportation, installation, and strike schedules.
Coordinate delivery routes and staffing to maximize efficiency.
Ensure crews arrive on time and execute events according to company standards.
Monitor event installations to maintain quality and client satisfaction.
Collaborate with the sales and event teams to ensure seamless execution.
Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally.
Fabrication & Production
Lead all fabrication, woodworking, finishing, upholstery, repairs, and custom product development.
Oversee production timelines and project scheduling.
Maintain high craftsmanship standards across all custom-built products.
Develop fabrication processes that improve consistency and efficiency.
Research new materials, construction methods, and equipment.
Manage custom builds from concept through completion.
Ensure all products align with Southwest Event Rental's design and quality standards.
Quality Control
Establish and maintain quality control procedures throughout production and warehouse operations.
Inspect rental inventory before delivery.
Develop repair and restoration programs to maximize the life of company assets.
Identify recurring product failures and implement long-term solutions.
Maintain presentation standards that reflect a luxury rental company.
Fleet & Equipment Management
Oversee maintenance schedules for company trucks, trailers, forklifts, and warehouse equipment.
Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.
Ensure all vehicles remain compliant with safety requirements.
Track equipment maintenance records.
Leadership & Staff Development
Lead, coach, and develop warehouse, logistics, fabrication, and production staff.
Hire, onboard, train, and mentor team members.
Create daily and weekly work schedules.
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.
Foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Cross-train employees to improve operational flexibility.
Operational Excellence
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Monitor key operational metrics.
Assist leadership with strategic planning and operational initiatives.
Recommend equipment purchases, facility improvements, and process enhancements.
Customer Service
Assist in resolving client concerns related to operations, installations, or product quality.
Support the sales team with operational expertise and product recommendations.
Help ensure every client receives an exceptional experience.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain OSHA-compliant warehouse and production practices.
Enforce all company safety policies.
Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and tools.
Promote a culture of workplace safety.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position directly supervises approximately 5–30 crew members, including: Warehouse Associates, Event leads, and Event Installers.

Qualifications
2+ years of management experience in warehouse operations, event logistics, fabrication, or the event rental industry is preferred.
Proven leadership experience managing multiple departments and teams.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and willingness to learn company software.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical work when needed.
Experience in fabrication, woodworking, welding, upholstery, furniture manufacturing, or finish carpentry.
Experience managing fleet maintenance.
Experience operating 24 foot box trucks.
Work Environment
This is primarily a warehouse-based leadership position with occasional travel to event sites.
Typical time allocation: 80% Warehouse operations, fabrication, and dispatch management
15% Event installations, and field supervision
5% Driving company vehicles
Because we support the event industry, flexibility is essential. This role requires occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedules.
