Description
CDL A Class Driver
Cobb Rental & Equipment, 3771 S FM 51, Decatur, TX 76234
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused CDL Class A Driver to transport rental equipment to and from customer job sites. The ideal candidate has experience hauling equipment, including: skid steers, mini excavators, all-terrain scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts and other construction and industrial equipment. Also, someone who is committed to excellent customer service and takes pride in maintaining equipment and ensuring safe, on-time deliveries.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Clean driving record with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Experience hauling construction or heavy equipment
- Inspect equipment before delivery and upon pickup for damage, cleanliness and proper operation
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and cargo securement requirements
- Ability to operate trailers, ramps, chains, binders, and load equipment safely
- Experience operating construction equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, telehandlers, and aerial lifts is preferred
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with office personnel regarding delivery schedules, delays, and customer needs.
- Keep truck and trailer clean and well-maintained; promptly report maintenance concerns to office
- Assist in the yard with loading equipment, organizing inventory, and other duties as needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Will work every few Saturdays in the yard, loading and helping customers (hours on Saturday's are 8am-11am)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily DOT vehicle inspections
- Ability to climb on and off trailers and equipment repeatedly throughout the day
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and secure loads using chains and straps.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
